One of Hollywood’s elite has come out swinging for Donald Trump.
Sylvester Stallone heaped praises on the president-elect this week, comparing him to his “Rocky” character and calling him the “second George Washington.”
Stallone was chosen to introduce the 47th president at the America First Policy Institute gala at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida on Thursday — and he didn’t slack on showering love on his longtime pal.
“When George Washington defended this country, he had no idea that he was going to change the world,” Stallone, 78, said to the audience at the right-wing think tank’s event. “Without him, you could imagine what the world would look like. Guess what? We got the second George Washington.”
The Oscar-nominated actor and filmmaker also compared “The Apprentice” star to the title character in his iconic 1976 film.
“When I did ‘Rocky,’ if you remember, the first image was a picture of Jesus,” Stallone said while recalling the opening scene of the movie. “The image pans out from Jesus onto Rocky being hit. And at that moment, he was a chosen person. … This man was going to go through a metamorphosis and change lives — just like President Trump.”
“We’re in the presence of a really mythical character,” he continued. “I love mythology. And this individual does not exist on this planet. Nobody in the world could’ve pulled off what he pulled off — so I’m in awe.”
The “Tulsa King” star is the latest conservative celebrity to go public with their support for the MAGA leader, following in the footsteps of Caitlyn Jenner, Zachary Levi and Justine Bateman.
